Illustrating the theme were room vignettes created by some of the Southeast’s top design-oriented retailers.

    More Americans than ever will celebrate Independence Day this year, according to an annual survey from National Retail Federation. An estimated 214 million people plan to mark the occasion, with 65 percent attending a cookout, barbecue or picnic; 43 percent watching fireworks or joining in another community celebration; and 12 percent attending a parade. They’ll also be shelling out some green for their red, white and blue celebrations, spending an average of $71.34 per household; total spending is expected to reach $6.8 billion.

    The 31st HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair and the seventh HKTDC Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair were presented concurrently April 20-23. These two fairs, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), attracted more than 2,400 exhibitors from 32 countries and regions to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
